The early childhood education programs offer an interactive approach to acquiring the knowledge, skills, and disposition necessary to work with young children. Students are guided by a group of experienced and qualified faculty in an in-depth study of the theories, principles, and practices of early childhood and child development. Students acquire direct experiences through supervised coaching and mentoring practicum courses.
The early childhood education department strives to bring innovative, research based, current information and knowledge to students. Reflective practices and critical thinking are woven into all coursework leading to certificates and degrees. Our early childhood education departments believe in the importance of promoting an engaging, intellectually challenging, and creative learning environment.
The early childhood education programs are coordinated with the child development and early childhood education majors offered by several state universities, which aligns with undergraduate and graduate work leading to advanced degrees.
